Celia Welch
Winemaker

Celia Welch is one of North America’s most significant winemakers and believes wine should speak to the unique qualities and characteristics of the vineyard.

She was raised in Oregon where her father, a wine collector and home winemaker, gave her an introduction to and appreciation for wine. Their father/daughter bond and shared interest in wine led to her fascination with flavors and aromas and eventually a degree in Enology from UC-Davis.

She explored the wine regions of the Pacific Northwest, New Zealand and Australia before settling in Napa Valley to work in several notable wineries to hone her skills. She then became an independent winemaker working for clients including Staglin Family Vineyard, Scarecrow, Keever Vineyards, Barbour, and Lindstrom. Celia also produces wine under her own critically acclaimed label, Corra.
